Top Ten Reasons (justifications)

Much to My Dear Husbands dismay, every now and then, I feel the need to go to Kansas. I don't think he really understands why, being a man and all, and after all I just saw everyone at Christmas. So in thinking long and hard about it (to come up with a good reason why I needed to go, even though the flight was already booked and I was going) I came up with the top ten reasons why I go to Kansas...drum roll please...

(1) I need to deliver the gifts that seem to find there way into my suitcase...

(yes I made cute chiefs hats and aprons...don't know why just saw the pattern and thought I can do that!)

(2) I need to celebrate really important holidays with Taylor and Keaton...like St. Patricks Day.

and yes they preferred lucky charms to green eggs and ham.

Calli and Taylor went to the Kansas St. Patricks day parade which happened to fall on the one beautiful sunny day of the week, so everyone that had been couped up indoors for the preceding weeks decided to attend. Calli and Taylor got lots of exercise walking and standing and battling the masses (so they was tired) so rather than slaving over the stove and making the traditional "Cheer up Charlie" soup (cabbage, potatoes and sausage) Papa Murphy's clover pizza won out. (We were secretly happy)

(3) I need to test the airlines weight limits on suitcases by seeing how much scrapbooking supplies i can haul there and back.

(4) I need my hair done and isn't it cheaper to fly there and have Calli do it than to pay some stranger?

(5) I need to finish my mothering job on Calli now that she's finally interested and teach her basic skills...

Yes she made this lovely apron all by herself.

(6) I need to constantly eat, anything everything and all the time.

( this is Oklahoma Joe's, good barbecue)

(7) I need to see that seasons do change (and remember that I live in Arizona for a reason)

(8) I need an adjustment, and isn't it cheaper to fly to Kansas and let Brendan to it than to pay some stranger?

(9) I need to address the really important questions like why does Keaton always chooses the same swing every time he goes outside,
and why is it the one one the end that i have to get up and go outside to see if hes still there?
And finally reason number 10....

Arlon and Jessica are still working on the "bonding" thing!

take summer back to Rexburg, come home. Sounded good huh!...Its a long way to Idaho! We flew to Salt Lake and rented a car, which did help with the distance . What I didn't really realize though was that Rexburg was not on the way to Gooding.

We took our poor lonely daughter Jessica with us though

and it gave us lots of bonding time...OH YEAH!

We got to Rexburg and Jessica got to experience...Snow

The Cold...

Turkeys...

And a look at her "Dream House"

But I digress...This blog was about defining a road trip...What do you do? EAT!

Shop...

and fix your hair...

All in all it was a good trip. Lots of driving, lots of eating, some catching up with relatives, and making sure Summer has enough food to make it through the end of school.
